DevOps Technical Lead – Sri Lanka

Overview

This includes managing the setting up of WSO2 solutions for customers, implementing tools to automate operations work, and supporting Continuous Delivery efforts. As this is a varied and complex role, we expect our ideal candidate to demonstrate a high level of interest to learn and implement new technologies. Interacting with customers is a key responsibility in this role and we expect our ideal candidate to possess excellent communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

  • Academic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Equivalent or with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience
  • Professional Qualifications
  • WSO2 Certification
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and open source software,
  • Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure platforms
  • Knowledge and experience in virtualization/Cloud technologies
  • Experience with Infrastructure-As-Code, Configuration Management Tools
  • Experience with implementing CI/CD
  • Practical experience with Containerization and Clustering (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Experience with performance management, monitoring, and problem identification and resolution
  • The ability to be able to troubleshoot complex technical problems
  • Ability to work well with a team in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
  • Assist the team leaders with technical and administrative tasks
  • Work unsupervised on several activities concurrently, taking ownership and prioritizing accordingly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for quality and timely deliveries of the project working with each practice hand in hand, being the driving force for the technical team
  • Provide technical and team input to project level strategic planning and execution
  • Provide inputs in assigning engineers to project tasks
  • Support Architect in making trade-off decisions through technical and team insights
  • Implement project level engineering governance through the established frameworks with guidance from the project architect
  • Ensure best engineering practices are effectively in place reducing risks, improving efficiency and increasing predictable consistency
  • Promot and practiced continuous learning, aligning to project expectations
  • Build a community of professionals through example and guidance
  • Recogniz, acknowledge and reward contribution and capabilities of the team members
  • Ensure the competencies and capabilities needed for the project is met
  • Responsible for the project’s capabilities, skills, registered and executed plans to fill identified gaps with the help of project architect and PM
  • Define objectives to the direct reports within the team and ensure they are cascaded down if applicable
  • Conduct frequent one on ones to track the progress of the objectives and course correct
  • Provide constructive feedback to engineering staff within the team
  • Open channels for reverse feedback from reportees and maintained a healthy and transparent relationship with them
  • Report back any deviations of project engineering objectives to project architect and tribe architect.
