Associate DevOps Engineer – MS

Overview

We are seeking an Associate DevOps Engineer to join our Managed Services team. In this role, you will support enterprise WSO2 deployments for our customers, with a focus on monitoring, incident investigation, controlled changes, automation, and maintaining operational documentation.

Working closely with senior engineers and team leads, you will contribute to improving service reliability and security, while gaining exposure to new technologies and developing your technical and operational skills. Clear and effective communication with customers and colleagues will also be an important part of the role.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or at least two years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux systems and open source software.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to Terraform, Ansible, or similar infrastructure automation tools.
  • Understanding of CI/CD and automated deployment pipelines.
  • Experience with monitoring, log analysis, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Methodical troubleshooting, documentation, and escalation skills.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability and willingness to work in a 24/7 roster-based Managed Services team.
  • Basic Shell or Python scripting skills and familiarity with Git-based workflows.
  • Clear communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
  • Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform certification will be advantageous.
  • Exposure to WSO2 products, middleware, networking, or security will be advantageous.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Maintain enterprise WSO2 deployments across customer environments.
  • Monitor platform health, alerts, and logs; identify and escalate issues.
  • Triage incidents, find root causes, apply approved fixes, and document outcomes.
  • Apply updates, patches, and configuration changes; automate repeatable tasks.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and reliable deployment processes.
  • Assist with performance analysis, tuning, and bottleneck identification.
  • Support fault tolerance and test availability and recovery procedures.
  • Follow security standards and help remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain configuration records, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Build reusable scripts and playbooks that reduce manual effort and errors.
  • Coordinate work with team leads and support handovers and knowledge sharing.
